Unpaid and Forced Over-time Not Tolerated

Earlier this week we told you that a senior officer in South East Queensland was directing staff to sign out drugs before their shift starts.

Now QAS has gone one step further and put this directive in black and white in an operational manual. This was done without consultation with United Voice.

It states: Officers MUST sign out drugs prior to the commencement of their shift…

We are advising United Voice members to ignore this directive.

As we informed you earlier this week, this is unpaid and forced over-time and you are under no obligation to complete unpaid duties outside work hours.

To be clear, members should log on to their vehicle at the start of their shift and then sign their drugs out.
