Local Ambulance Officers and I have sought a meeting with Health Minister Lawrence Springborg at the Keppel Community Cabinet meeting in Rockhampton on September 14. Local Ambulance Officers are concerned about the impact of government decisions and policies on local patient services.
The call follows the Minister’s lack of response to two letters seeking a meeting on the impact of privatisation policies, ramping, health and safety and professional recognition of Ambulance Officers through formal registration.
Rockhampton is no different to many centres across the state where a lack of attention to these issues will impact badly on the health not only of officers – but the patients you serve. We will keep you updated on the outcome of the meeting.
