Your United Voice ambulance team along with state councillors and regional organisers have travelled more than 8000kms over the past few weeks visiting stations and members in the South West, North West, Wide Bay, Central Qld, Central West, Mackay, Townsville and Cairns LASNs. These visits were vital to ensure all members have a clear understanding of the Remuneration Inquiry process and can see how important it is to be active and supportive of the campaign as we prepare to move into negotiations in 2017.
Alongside station visits a number of barbeque and morning tea events were also held, these social gatherings were a great opportunity for members to get together to discuss issues and strategies. They were also an excellent chance for non-members to get a taste of what being part of the Union is all about. Almost 40 new members joined United Voice after attending one of the meetings, further strengthening our position.
Members based in LASNS in the south east corner of the state will have an opportunity to attend a barbecue meeting and find out about the remuneration inquiry process and campaign in coming weeks. Members are being notified of times and dates via SMS so make sure you keep a look out for those. Everyone is welcome to come and enjoy a burger and ask questions. If you know of a non-member please encourage them to come along as it’s a great opportunity for them to better understand why being part of their Union is important.
If you weren’t able to attend one of the regional events and would like some more information about the inquiry please contact your United Voice organiser or ask a question via the Member Assist section on the United Voice App. Download the app for free now.
