Once again United Voice member Kyla Golds has gone out of her way to advocate for others. Last time we saw Kyla pop up was in the special United Voice video she did to support her colleagues and profession.
Then she was telling it like it is as a paramedic pleading with the government not to make working life any harder. This time she’s raising money for the Special Care Nursery, which cares for premature and sick babies. It’s something very close to Kyla’s heart as just over a year ago, her daughter Airlie Rae was born premature and spent six weeks in the nursery.
Over the past year, Kyla has raised $8000 for the unit in Tweed Heads with her biggest event so far last month, a Ladies Night at The Kings Cliff Beach Bowls Club.
From Kyla’s amazing fundraising efforts, the nursery is getting a new Bili blanket for babies with jaundice and additional recliners for exhausted Mums. Kyla’s also received a well-deserved nomination for the Premmie Hero Award, run by the L’il Aussie Prems Foundation.
