Our industrial officers, organisers and delegates have been very busy these past months representing members in a diversity of industrial disputes and challenges. WH&S, bullying and harassment, transfers, flexible working arrangements, return to work planning are just to name a few.
We have also had some wins that have financially benefited members ensuring correct pay conditions have been enforced.
A Patient Transport Officer had been on the wrong pay code for quite some time and after presenting the evidence on the member’s behalf, the member received a substantial back pay.
A member who had been acting in a higher role was not acknowledged as having accumulated the time in the higher role to get a pay point progression. After contesting this on behalf of the member, the higher pay point was accepted as being earned and the member was progressed.
After investigating an inquiry into a member’s pay and presenting the industrial conditions around the argument, a six-month salary continuance and back pay was achieved for a member who had transferred between positions.
