Every two years United Voice holds its State Delegates Conference in Brisbane. This year saw more than 270 delegates from across Queensland converge on the states capital for a two-day intensive into building power and securing change.
35 ambulance delegates were part of the contingent. Long-time ambulance officer and United Voice member Nick Lentakis gave an inspiring presentation to the crowd, sharing his own insights into building power and achieving change within the workplace and the community.
Attendees also heard from migrant members about how United Voice helped them become part of the Australian community and United Voice members who now hold positions in state and federal parliament shared their plans for the future and committed to upholding the beliefs of the union.
Dr Richard Dennis from the Australia Institute was a crowd favourite giving an incredible talk where he broke down economic babble and gave the audience in an insight into how simple economics can and should be.
