On Thursday the 12th of October the United Voice negotiating team came together to meet with QAS to finalise the detail of the proposed certified agreement for ambulance employees.  United Voice Queensland is happy to report that we are now in a position to move towards the formal consultation and balloting process for all employees to have their say on the Union negotiated collective agreement.  Continue reading

Enterprise Bargaining Update

There have been meetings of United Voice members occurring across the state over the last weeks to provide information and seek endorsement on the negotiated points around your pay and entitlements. The information sessions, which were held both at stations and by phone hook-ups to the regional and remote areas, have been well attended. Overwhelming support has been expressed from the majority of members around the proposed enhanced classification structure and the adjustments to the base rate of pay in line with the recommendations from the Mercer Remuneration Inquiry. United Voice sponsors trauma training

Delegate Peter Griffey joined 20 paramedic students from the Sunshine Coast University for this years ‘Trauma Island’ training weekend on Fraser Island. The weekend training focuses on practical trauma scenarios and is run by the Sunshine Coast University Paramedics Association (SCUPA). The students were challenged by the attending nine clinical leaders through a variety of scenarios from road traffic crashes, burns envenomation to a final multi casualty scenario on the beach. Our sponsorship went towards delegate attendance and student involvement. Continue reading
