Work Value Case to be reviewed

United Voice will commission an independent feasibility study into a Work Value Case for Queensland Ambulance Officers.

We are currently sourcing highly qualified independent academics with appropriate expertise in employment relations to conduct the review.

The independent reviewers will report directly to a four-person project team including Kroy Day, representing United Voice, and three working Ambulance Officers including a paramedic, a patient transfer officer and a representative from communications.

We will call for expressions of interest from members in the coming weeks. This is an important panel as it will advise United Voice on whether or not it is in the best interests of our members to run such a case.

A work value case is long overdue and linked to some sort of national rates of pay once registration is approved is about the only realistic means of achieving appropriate remuneration and hopefully retention of experienced personnel.

The next challenge is the humanising of management and return to a genuinely holistic and caring management style instead of the mongrel adversarial approach presently in vogue.
