Professional registration for Paramedics is a big step closer after a recent Council of Australian Governments (COAG) meeting in Adelaide.
Attendants at the meeting agreed to include Paramedics in the National Registration and Accreditation Scheme.
The nuts and bolts of the registration roll-out have yet to be determined and we will be updating you as further information comes to light.
As always, the devil is in the detail – but your union is confident that a scheme that recognises the skills and experience of existing Paramedics while paving the way for a better professional future for new-starters can be achieved.
The announcement is a big win for our Code One Campaign, which has been vocally pushing for professional registration for Paramedics. Thanks to all the Paramedics who took an active stance in getting the message out there – it’s great to see the results you’ve achieved.
