United Voice wins higher pay rise

QAS today confirmed you will receive a 2.5% pay rise in line with the State Wage Case, which is above the 2.2% increase provided in last year’s determination. This decision follows United Voice’s direct advocacy for members.

Branch Secretary Gary Bullock wrote to Commissioner Bowles on 10 August demanding the higher rate and this was agreed to by the Commissioner in a letter dated 21 August.

Today the Commissioner has confirmed that the pay rise will be backdated to 1 September and will flow through to your pay in the following manner:

  • Fortnight ending  20 September 2015 -2.5% increase applied to base pay and allowances
  • Fortnight ending  4 October 2015 – back pay adjustments from  1 September 2015 to 6 September 2015

Just a reminder, your State Council is meeting this week to review a wide range of important issues including our Code One campaign, Work Value, next Enterprise Bargaining, PTSD and other important issues. We will keep you up to date.
