United Voice wins commitment on Patient Care records

A key part of our Code One campaign that was developed last year is best practice rostering to ensure patient records are complete and/or Ambulance Officers are not under threat if ordered to proceed without completion.

In the past six months Code One has:

  • Obtained legal advice on the problem of incomplete patient records;
  • Won a written commitment that QAS will indemnify Officers and protect them from legal threat;
  • Provided reps to advocate the issue at the joint QAS – United Voice Fatigue Management Review; and
  • Provided reps to advocate the issue on the joint QAS – United Voice Meal Management Committee.

See Commissioner Bowles response to our demands on incomplete patient records here. We will keep you up to date on the progress of the Fatigue Working Group and the Meal Management Committee.
