United Voice calls for review into state recruitment process

Following a high volume of enquiries from our members into the recent state recruitment process, United Voice has demanded QAS commit to a full review of the procedure.

Some of the questions raised by our members identified problems with:

  • Lack of information in advertisements on position and location;

  • Length of process and notification of results;

  • Inequity on applicants who were/were not placed in development pool;

  • Inconsistency in comparing skills, knowledge and behaviour of applicants;

  • Lack of consultation with LASN managers.

United Voice will insist upon a working group made up of delegates and QAS personnel be convened to conduct a full examination of the current model and the formulation of a revised practice encompassing transparency, consistency and an improved holistic approach to the recruitment process.
