Queensland members help win Senate Inquiry

Our members in Cairns and Rockhampton who spoke directly with Senator Glenn Lazarus in recent weeks are to be thanked for inspiring him to set up a Senate Inquiry into the national registration of paramedics.

Senator Lazarus announced the inquiry last week and in doing so he referred to “extensive consultations with paramedics across Queensland”. See our response to Senator Lazarus’s announcement here.

The Inquiry is to report by June 2016 and will consider the comparative duties of paramedics, doctors and registered nurses. Registration is Point 7 on our Code One Action Plan and we look forward to taking the stories of working paramedics direct to the Senate.
