The Queensland Health Department yesterday launched the television and online community awareness campaign aimed at educating the public on and reducing cases of violence against ambulance officers. The campaign is one of the outcomes from the Paramedic Safety Taskforce and was created through consultation with United Voice and extensive public testing and research. While the adverts themselves will go a way to building public awareness of the issue they are just one aspect of a suite of changes needed to address this unacceptable issue. There are a number of areas still being investigated by the Taskforce including technology options, research and development, data analysis and clinical practice and safety.
