Health Minister called on to fix ramping problems

Despite the MEDAI Directives that the Government reintroduced last year clearly stating that Patient Off Stretcher Times should not exceed 30 minutes ramping for up to four and a half hours is still a common, and completely unacceptable, occurrence. Today, your union demanded that the Health and Ambulance Services Minster act immediately to make Health and Hospital Services Boards accountable so this growing issue can be stopped. It’s time for the executives on these Health and Hospital Services Boards to assist ambulance officers and paramedics rather than obstruct them and start following the MEDAI Directives to allow crews to get back to the thousands of patients that need their help.

We will keep you informed of the response from the Minister.
